Hi Ed, I'm Edna's grand daughter - Gloria McLaughlin's daughter - Heather. I never got to meet Aunt Gloria, but i grew up surrounded by her. Her woodblocks covered my grandparents' house and ours and I have two of them now in mine. I remember the prize-winning painting and could tell you exactly where it hung in grandma's sitting room. A small print called "The Visitor" (i believe) now hangs in my daughter's (Aven) room & the large carousel cut she did for me when i was born is in our guest bedroom. Everyone spoke so fondly of her, my mom in particular had what she called "that connection" with her. I have a few photos of her from the 60's or 70's, with her cool horn-rimmed glasses & i know all about her white carpet and pristine home. I'm sad i never got to meet her or Bob, but her blood runs through Aven's veins and she too will know all about Aunt Gloria, the artist from New York. <3
